eWe Live Recap - by Kyle Snitsky
Actually written by: Brad "Alex Stone" Hughes
Date: January 14th, 2009
Turnout: 8 RolePlays

Hey guyyys, this is Kyle Snitskyyy, I just got back from EWE Live #4 so I'm sending in my recap of the show. I'll just warn you, myyyy keyyyboard has been playyying up and some of the keyyys keep on sticking, so if it looks weird then remember; it wasn't myyy fault!

Now, this is one packed out show! We were first greeted byyy Stephanie McMahon... nice rack... and she told us this was the last of these shows before the big pay per view, Anniversary, so we had to make a lot of noise and get the wrestlers fired up for the show. That was pretty much it, if she did say anything else I forgot because I was staring at that rack.

That took us to the first match of the evening and what a stinker this was! Dylan Styles and Shawn Ashlocke looked like a good match on paper, but... well, you know when two wrestlers have a great match and they say, "They left it all in the ring!" well, Styles and Ashlocke left it all in the locker room, they had nothing to give in the squared circle. The match was kinda saved when Chris Burgess ran down after 5 minutes and hit both men with a steel chair. The crowd cheered that the match was ended and was looking forward to the next encounter.

Result: Double DQ.

Next up was a rematch from a few weeks back, Danny Danger Vs John Cena. Danger was on a mini-roll or so I'd read and was getting a bit of a push, but he didn't bring it tonight at all. Cena had said to be looking forward to getting his own back at Danger for that loss, but when it came down to it he didn't seem to care, as he came in with no passion what-so-ever. This was ended around 7 minutes into the match after both men fought to the outside and got counted out. It was another dud and I expect both wrestlers to be fined for sending the person next to me to sleep.

Result: Double Count Out

So far this has been a poor card, but I don't think it's the booking teams fault! Hopefully the next few matches will be an improvement, because there was a short break of five or ten minutes after this match, probably so that management could yell at the guys in the back and tell them to up their game.

Next up we had White Tiger taking on Derek Daniels; this has pay per view main event written on it, it has to be good right? Well, Tiger was ok, not at his best by any stretch of the imagination, but passable. Daniels, however, should have stayed at home, he looked rusty as hell, like he'd forgotten how to execute his moves. He totally botched a vertical suplex, falling over even before getting Tiger half way into the air. Luckilly, Tiger wasn't hurt, and he made Daniels pay after 10 minutes, hitting his finisher for the win.

Result: White Tiger by pinfall

The star power alone in that match made for a better atmosphere, and it was a better match than what we'd seen already, but still this card is very disappointing.

After three singles contests, we're going to shake things up with a tag team match featuring three newcomers (To my knowledge at least), and one legend. It's Sean and Hilary Justice Vs Natalie Payne and 18. I wonder if Natalie is White Tiger's wife? hmm. Anyway... it was a good contest. Natalie looked good in her debut but the Justice couple need some work... maybe a bit more time spent in the developmental territory.

18 spent most of the time on the apron for this one, just guiging Natalie along and giving her a few pointers here and there. There was one point where Sean and Hilary had Natalie in the corner double teaming her (I wish I could've ran in and made it a triple team, hehe), and 18 had to run in and kick the crap out of both of them for a few seconds, but she soon returned to the apron and Natalie had control from then on. Mr. Man decided now was a good time to come out and play some mind games with 18 ahead of their match at Anniversary. He walked down to ringside and was just distracting her, not really trying to get involved in the match. 18 got tired of his presence however and began stalking him around the ring and back up the ramp, but while she was doing so, Natalie took care of business in the ring. 18 turned around to see it and looked impressed. Man just smiled at her one last time before going backstage.

Result: Natalie Payne and 18 by pinfall.

There was some sort of segment next, but I missed it thanks to my idiot friend not wanting to go the toilet on his own incase he got lost, so I'm sorry I couldn't report on it, but it wasn't my fault.

The second half the show began with Mr. Man taking on Eric Steel, another newcomer; I wonder if he's related to "Your fucking God," "God's Offspring," "God Of Porn," "God of a Thousand Nick Names," Chris Steel... could be?

Mr. Man looked great in this match, and really gave a lesson to Eric Steel about what you have to do to get to the top of the EWE. Mr. Man has only had one World Title reign, but on the form he's been showing recently I wouldn't bet against him getting a second run this year. Manny dominated the match, hardly taking any shots what-so-ever, and finished it off inside five minutes with a future splash. Squash!

Result: Mr. Man by pinfall.

Next up was Burge Vs D-Dawg. This was the best contest of the night so far, with both guys putting on a decent showing. Burge got a big reception, although there was a fair few "EWE" chants going on, and D-Dawg was similarly well liked, though nothing spectacular. Burge took control early on, putting his experience to good use, and was doing a bit of showboating while he was at it. He took a bit too long to gloat at one point however, allowing Dawg to crotch him on the top rope and really turn the tides. Just shy of ten minutes, D-Dawg hit a big DDT coming off the ropes and looked to have the match won but Burge kicked out at 2 and 3 quarters. Burge got back into the match and hit a thunderous super-plex off the top rope which again scored 2 and 3 quarters. The fans were really into it at the this point, having a battle of the chants with "Lets Go Burgess!"from one half and, "Lets Go D-Dawg!" from the other.

The finish came when Burgess ducked a clothesline and the ref got caught. Dylan Styles ran out and jumped up on the apron. D-Dawg went to whip Burgess into the ropes towards Styles, but Burge reversed it sending D-Dawg into Styles which then allowed him to hit his finisher and make the count, just as the ref made made his miraculous recovery... funny how the ref always wakes up at the exact right moment isn't it? D-Dawg shouldn't be ashamed of this performance at all, and Burge did great job putting him over.

Result: Burge by pinfall

James Manson was out next sporting a new look mask... a few kids got pretty scared in the front row and jumped into their parents arms... I found it hilarious! The show which had been steadily getting better since the Mr.Man match took another good turn when Face The Pain came on, what a song! Alex Stone made his return to the ring to a mixed reaction.

This was match of the night by quite a bit, even though Alex wasn't at his best. James Manson looked better than ever, it's a wonder that he was only ever the Pure Champion judging by this performance, as he kept up with Stone all through the match, and Stone, like Burgess, did a great job making him look good. Stone was working the match on the ground early on, but a clever move by Manson once they got back on their feet, was when he backdropped Stone over the top rope to the outside. Manson took control for a while, getting a series of near falls but never really looking likely to finish the match at that point. After 8 minutes, Manson made a mistake and Stone was able to put him down and lock in the Time Breaker. Manson sold it well and fought like hell to get out of it, but eventually he took to grabbing the ropes with his free hand. Stone began to work on the injured shoulder, leading to Manson showing some intelligence by trying to counter with shots to Stone's repaired back. We saw a few holds, a few high impact moves, a bit of brawling, there was a lot on show to make for an interesting match. Manson hit his finisher from out of nowhere and went for the pin on what looked like an out cold Alex Stone. The match was over, except Alex was able to get his foot on the rope and stop the count, to which Manson couldn't believe, so he pulled him in the middle of the ring and tried to pin him twice more, but Stone kicked out both times. Almost 20 minutes in saw Manson getting frustrated at his inability to put Stone away, so he climbed to the top rope and went for a flying clothesline or something, but Stone jumped up and hit the stunner portion of the Time Out to pick up a hard fought, but in the end academic victory! Great match! Manson is a future star!

Result: Alex Stone by pinfall.

And then we came to the main event of the evening, and what a main event it looks! Sean Lewis Vs Johnny Chaos, and boy am I looking forward to this.

Unfortunately, it didn't live up to the hype. Lewis dominated Chaos right from the off! Lewis was on form tonight, thankfully, as he had to carry Johnny Chaos through this match. Both guys have been in the EWE for a while now, and going by this match it looked as though Lewis is the only one to have learned anything over these last five years, and Chaos has been going through the motions. Lewis hit a gloria after ten minutes of dominance and put Chaos away for the easy win. A little showboating at the end of the night as the fans cheered, a few autographs and that's your lot.

Result: Sean Lewis by Pinfall

Ok this is Kyle Snitsky signing out and saying don't drink and drive, because if you do and you're involved in an accident, the police will definitely think it was your fault!
